Javier is the fifth generation of a family of winemakers from Laguardia, a privileged place in the Rioja Alavesa. He began learning the trade with his grandfather and at the age of 17 he made his first wine in his father's winery. Finally, in 2013, he decided to undertake his personal project: BODEGAS JAVIER SAN PEDRO ORTEGA.

Among their wines we find 3 families. On the one hand, Cueva de Lobos, which is a range of fun, aromatic and modern wines. The Black Widow range recovers old vineyards from Rioja Alavesa, obtaining the highest quality from each plot. Finally, Anahí , is the range of semi-sweet wines created, moreover, in homage to his mother. Red, rosé and white wines, which are part of the DOC Rioja.

This is how 'Bodegas Javier San Pedro Ortega' was born, an innovative winery with a young team that seeks to surprise and differentiate itself from the classic Rioja wine. And it is that our wines have a story to tell. They are modern, authentic and unique. They transmit the expression of our land since they are elaborated and raised with care from a dynamic and current vision. Today we have 21 products on the market, including a Vermouth and a Gin. All of them share character, surprising the palate from the unique perspective of those who seek to offer something more.

Our winery opens up to the world through a first class wine tourism offer, represented by our winebar facing the Sierra de Cantabria and a visit-experience that soaks the senses.
